The VIIS Story

"Since childhood, I have been fascinated by the dream of flight - seeing the world from above, merging with the sky and feeling true freedom. My first flight in an old propeller plane forever anchored this dream within me. The sound of the engines, the elegance of the aircraft - at that moment, time stood still. All that mattered was the here and now.

Sometimes, life takes unexpected turns that lead us to new horizons. As a teenager, I had to give up my dream of flying due to motion sickness and poor eyesight - but from this loss, something greater emerged. At 16, I met Leonie, the love of my life and my partner in everything. We were united by a thirst for adventure, a longing for distant places and a desire for independence. My dream of flying became our shared dream.

A dream that needed a symbol: a pilot watch that combines precision, reliability and style. Inspired by the iconic timepieces of aviation history, we developed a brand that combines uncompromising quality with modern design - a watch for pioneers who take life into their own hands.

But as life sometimes goes, this dream initially ended up in the drawer. Leonie and I built careers before the turning point came in 2024: the news that we were going to be parents. Suddenly there was this deep desire to create something not just for us - but for what was to come. For our daughter. VIIS was born out of this moment of clarity. From the conviction that dreams must be lived - and that this is exactly what we want to exemplify. This is how an idea became a brand. A brand that brings humanity's dream of flight directly to the wrist.

The name VIIS has a special meaning as it refers to the beautiful Croatian island of Vis and thus to my family's roots.

Our pilot watches are more than just timepieces - they are symbols of freedom, determination and the eternal longing for new horizons. Each model pays tribute to the pilots of the past, present and future: individuals with the courage to overcome boundaries and see the world from a different perspective.
